Randy Vogt, the author of the soccer book, Preventive Officiating, is pleased to announce that since publication in April 2010, he has been donating a small portion of the sales proceeds from every book sold to the non-profit U.S. Soccer Foundation, the Major Charitable Arm of Soccer in the United States. The donations continue for every book sold in the United States.
“When I started writing Preventive Officiating in 2006, I wanted to create a guide for referees on how to avoid problems officiating a match as well as serve as a resource for those involved in the sport to learn the rules and their application,” Randy commented. “I realized that I could give back to the game not just by through this book but also by donating a portion of the sales to the U.S. Soccer Foundation.”
“The U.S. Soccer Foundation appreciates the donation we receive from each sale of Preventive Officiating,” said Greg Griffith, Director of Development of the U.S. Soccer Foundation. “By supporting the development of places to play, places to grow and places to learn, we can ensure that children in underserved communities have easy and affordable access to quality soccer programs that support their physical and personal development. Soccer is a powerful vehicle for social change and we applaud the efforts of referees across the country to help the game thrive in the United States.”
Located in Washington, DC, the U.S. Soccer Foundation supports programs and field building projects that provide low income and at-risk youth in urban communities with soccer programs that promote education, healthy lifestyles, leadership and positive alternatives to drugs, crime and other at-risk behaviors.
